Storm Warranty Coverage

That is what the manufacturer calls an act of God, or nature. It is not going to be covered under your manufacturer’s warranty. I am not saying it will not be covered under a homeowner’s policy or some other kind of policy

If you have a 10 years parts and labor and you are in year 3, 4, or 5 and you have flooding from the hurricane and damage because of that. The circuit board went out or the motor went out because it was under water then the warranty is not going to cover it. That is an act of God, or an act of nature. The homeowner’s may cover it, but just because you have a parts warranty, doesn’t mean it is going to take care of it.

It is kind of like if you bought a brand new car and your car is flooded. Kia, with their 10 year warranty is not going to cover that flooded car with engine problems now. That is not Kia’s fault, it is not a manufacturer defect. It is not going to be covered under that warranty because again, it is out of their control and your control. We can’t control the environment or nature, therefore, the warranty for that period is there to cover manufacturer defects or workmanship problems. A flood or hurricane is not one of those, so it is not going to cover it. The homeowner’s might depending on the policy and what you have. It may cover it if you have flood insurance. I would look at all of those angles before trying to go to the equipment manufacture because that problem you having is not because of the manufacture, it’s because of nature.
